On the way to Vietnam, we stopped over in Singapore for two and a half days. As it turned out, a friend of mine from college lives there with her fiancé. They were gracious enough to let us stay with them while we were in town and even more so to take us out and show us around.
(Arrival to Singapore – dinner at the Satay Club; Monica, me & Danielle ‘cooking’ satay)
Our first morning in Singapore, we headed out to explore the city. Visiting a hawker centre in Chinatown for an AB recommended lunch, followed by a visit to the Gardens by the Bay and taking the train shopping (if you’ve seen our bags, you’d know we were just browsing…).
(Maxwell’s Hawker Centre; AB reco’d chicken rice)
(Chinatown; Gardens by the Bay; riding the elephants)
We got dressed up and went out for dinner and drinks on Friday night. The dressiest we’ve been since traveling!
On Saturday, we went out for brunch and then the girls spent the rest of the day watching movies in bed. It was one of the best afternoons! It was so nice staying with Monica and Kip! They really made us feel so at home and welcome; letting us do laundry (that actually smelled clean and nice!) and really make ourselves at home in their place. It kinda felt like being back in Georgia.
(me & Monica – game day Go Jackets!)
