Splashing Around

September 25, 2012 by Beth Meyer

On Sunday, we decided to rent bikes and explore Luang Prabang. We explored temples, rode across the old communist-era bridge and got one of our FAV baguette sandwiches for lunch. After lunch, we were tired and hot and decided to hit up the pool. Now there are two pools in Luang Prabang – the local pool or the more western visited hotel pool. We rode by both and opted for the local pool because it looked like a lot more fun. Best decision ever.

As soon as we got in the pool, the children flocked to us. We spent the next couple hours splashing around, throwing the kids in basket tosses and having a splendid time! It was SOOOO much fun swimming with the local Lao kids. They were beyond adorable and full of energy. We left happily exhausted! Props to our dads for throwing us around as kids and not complaining…it’s tough work!
