The Maldives. My dream destination. The place I’ve wanted to go for years and years and years (and years and years). The spot I’ve always said I’m going to on my honeymoon (whenever that eventually rolls around…). It never really occurred to me that the Maldives are a quick 45 minute flight south of Southern Kerala. Nor did it occur to me that you could get a flight for $240. Round trip! The obvious answer when you learn things like this are to book a flight and go. Without question. So…we did!
Danielle & I booked a flight for a four-night jaunt to the Maldives. Will we be amongst a bunch of honeymooners? Perhaps. But I’m so giddy on this flight right now, I don’t even care if we’re the only single gals for miles and miles of beautiful atolls.
From every single photo I’ve ever seen, the Maldives looks like one of the most beautiful places on earth. Right now Thailand holds that honor for me. I can’t wait to find out what the Maldives brings to the table.
The plan is to do two nights at a budget hotel and then two luxury nights using points at the Sheraton Full Moon Resort. I tried to see about the W Maldives but unfortunately when I learned you have to take a seaplane to get to the island, it pretty much nixed any thought of that kind of splurge. It’s still on the books as the honeymoon locale…doesn’t it look unreal?!
Photos of my dream hotel – W Maldives
Wow…that looks amazing. I think I’d prefer that over the craziness in India ANYDAY! I hope you are loving it!!!!
It was wonderful!! The best decision we’ve made in a while!
amazing pics and experience!
It was unreal! Y’all have to go. And let me know and I’ll go back with y’all!!
Maldives – So jealous, it is number 1 on my bucket list. You better have dove!!!
It was amazing! Let me know and I’ll go back!! The diving is supposed to be best during January to April, but it was pretty great during our time. I did two dives, both between 20-30m and saw 5 sharks, 4 pretty large swimming rays and a whole lot of amazing colorful fish. 🙂
