Pichilemu

January 22, 2013 by Beth Meyer

There’s not a whole lot to report on as of late. We met up with some more of Allan’s South African friends, Matt & Mark, who were traveling through South America as well. We met them in Santiago and then all headed to the coast of Chile to a little surf town called Pichilemu. Since I don’t really surf (especially in cold water), it has been an enjoyable R&R break. Andddd catching up on ‘budgeting’…tear!

(walk from our hostel to the subway to the bus station…we travel light)

We did hit up the local Pichilemu Carnival one night. One ride was plenty and quite jarring, so I don’t think we’ll be returning.

While we’ve been in Pichilemu, we’ve been staying at this adorable family run hostel, Hostal Yutty, where the mother and grandmother bake treats daily. My favorite being the alfajores. Basically two thin wafer cookies with dulce de leche in the center and covered in chocolate. Heaven! Oh, and they have the most adorable five month old kitten that we play with, Dora.
