Since I’m going back to pastry (patisserie) school in three weeks, I’ve decided to put together a post on things that I found to be inspirational throughout each month. August was a month dominated by all things peaches so ‘Peach’ seemed like the perfect theme to kick off the new series.
August Peach Inspirations
1. The PEACH State: Georgia
I was born and raised in the Peach State just outside of Atlanta, so the peach theme seemed like the perfect inspiration theme on multiple levels. Spending a few weeks in Georgia this summer allowed me to indulge in some of my Southern summer ATL faves: BBQ, Braves baseball games, SweetWater, The Varsity, boiled peanuts and, of course, visiting with friends and family.
2. Peach Desserts
Peaches are one of my favorite summer fruits to eat and bake with and this summer I found myself making a peach & blueberry cream tart and grilled peach cobbler more than once.
This Grilled Peach Cobbler is one I’ve made periodically over the years, and decided to put it back in rotation during a week at the beach with my family. Since there were only three of us, we halved the recipe and it worked beautifully. Super tasty!
3. Obsessed with these Peach leggings from Alternative Apparel.
