Week 29 of pastry school might have been my most favorite week of the entire course. One of the units in the Higher Culinary Diploma is a gastronomy unit and as part of that unit, our class took a trip to Sorrento, Italy. Our itinerary included a lemoncello factory tour, visiting a buffalo mozzarella farm and gelato making class.
Since our trip was scheduled for Monday through Thursday, I decided to extend my trip to include the weekend before and have a chance to explore more of the Amalfi Coast. One of my classmates, Krystin, joined me for the extra few days. We had a blast touring the ruins of Pompeii, hiking Mt. Vesuvius, trekking along the Walk of the Gods, and exploring Capri by land and boat. More on this later!
Prior to the trip, I decided I was going to dust off the GoPro (I’ve got an old Hero 2) and capture a lot of the trip on film. Here’s a look at the video I’ve put together. It’s my first time editing, so any and all feedback is greatly appreciated! 🙂
I also took a lot of photos (over 1,000!) and until I have time to finish organizing and editing, here’s a brief look at our trip in Instagram highlights. 🙂
Have you explored the food and culture of the Campania region in Italy?
